Yay...now I'm exhausted. Much has been said so "ditto" ;-p But I will add that what I liked best was how Gene was defeated by his own flaws and how Shep exploited them perfectly. I get what you were saying about deus ex machina, but you are FAR from that here. Gene's 'perfection' was his flaw. I giggled out loud when he bled out from the knife in his chest and didn't know why he was about to pass out. Makes my little logic brain all happy and satisfied.

Oh, and you know, the H/C was Ok too ;-)
