I read the chapter earlier today. I pondered it all day. Then I read it again tonight. I thought I might add something more elaborate or eloquent to my comment. But really, "OMG!" still pretty much sums it up. There were so many things to love, but one of the points that really struck me was how profoundly Ronon and John's minds are being shaped by the environment. It is similar to an AU in which the characters are the same, but the tale explores the them in a different set of circumstances, different setting etc. Their isolation and desperation here really defines some of their choices. I love how Ronon was attuned to the subtle changes in John, and John's attempts to shield Ronon from what was happening out there. It's an incredible tale.
