It's really a unique way to help. I donate time, but rarely have a lot of money to offer. If I can use something I enjoy as a means to generate support for a cause, than I'll do it.

I feel a bit guilty at not being able to offer 'more', but I'm under time/work constraints, but it doesn't mean that I won't make ever word count in a smaller fic.

Powerful things are written in short punches, and depending how a fic takes shape, 1,500 words doesn't have to be a ceiling. The bottom line is about generating money and small amounts add up.
