I think it was late season 3. He and Rodney both started wearing similar uniform blouses then (only Rodney's was grey) but Rodney switched to the Star Trek uniform during season 4 with the rest of the cast. I've always found it kind of funny that John is the only person on Atlantis wearing that uniform. *g*
