This is such a cool plot. Incredible job on the science aspect of sci-fi here. Rodney's POV really works well for this sort of storyline. I am enjoying the parallel of Ten's evolution and Sheppard's decline (as well as 'Fur's' decline.) Ten's pacing is priceless. There is such a mixture of humor and intrigue and sadness here, and that gives a real emotional intensity to the tale, too. I feel sorry for Ten and his pet. The ethical issues regarding humanity and sentience are well played out in this and previous chapters. I love all the witty lines and moments such as referring to the ship as Sheppard's "precious."
