Torchwood Season Four

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ann_tara for the news!!

“Season Four of Torchwood is a Go On Starz”

I really enjoyed “Children of Earth” despite all the tragedy, so I'll be very curious how things will proceed after the events of the mini-series. I'm excited by this news, because there is not enough sci-fi on television.

Exciting News

I loved Torchwood and I agree about "Children of the Earth", it was extremely sad, but well done. I think I cried through it almost as much as I did at the end of "Sunday",well maybe not that much.

Can't wait to see it. Hope it's as good as the new Dr. Who. I love David Tennant and he's still my fave, but the new Doctor...amazing. I really like him.

You're right not enough sci-fi on TV or the movies; and we are always going to be a show short.

While I completely understand why people were so upset by "Children of Earth" --hello, could you imagine the same thing happening to SGA? I found it to be great writing and drama, except maybe for the way certain things happened. But British TV is always willing to go in those scary corners that American TV doesn't.

I'm not into the new Doctor, but I must admit that I only watch some Doctor Who(ten) because it's tough for me to swallow the low rent special effects. I ended up being more of a Torchwood fan because the team feel.

British TV is wonderful; the dramas are much better written and acted, the comedy's can be silly, but they can carry off adult content so much better than the childish Americans. I watch BBC America more than any US network. I think if CBS didn't have the original CSI, NCIS and NCIS LA, which is growing on me, and Criminal Minds, I wouldn't be watching anything. I would have watched Rockford; NBC blew that!

As for the cheesy special effects on Dr. Who..that is by design now...may have been by budget in the original series. That touch of camp gives it a different edge. But I love Torchwood for the characters and for the very interesting stories.

OH...more scifi...good scifi, please!!!!

I'm with you. After the initial shock and after watching it again I agree that it was really good. I cried a lot on both watchings, which is saying something. I need my weekly scifi dose.

I think COE was brilliant television and the shock of the darker elements was hard to swallow, but I wasn't as into the characters as I was SGA which helped cushion the blow.

I loved COE, no apologies. Perhaps some U.S. shows would be better off if they killed off a character now and then :D

I'm not sure I agree about "not enough scifi". I would say rather not enough "good" scifi and fantasy.

I think COE was awesome. There would be more good sci-fi shows on the air if there just more of them! :-P

But right now, I don't watch any of the ones that are one the air because they lack such quality.

Thanks to ann_tara for the news!!

And I found it on twitter, so thanks be to the tweets! Hee!

I enjoyed CoE too, even though it was really depressing. I'm very interested to see how Jack and Gwen get back together, and if and how Rhys is still part of the equation. And I really think it's smart that they're moving the story beyond Cardiff.

I got hooked on TW in seconds! I can't wait to see what they do next. COE was depressing yet awesome.

Really? Oh, fabulous news! Will it be broadcast on BBC or STARZ? I get both, so I am soooo happy to hear this!
