I don't make a big deal about my birthday, I'm low key like that, but as today rolled on by, I've found maybe I'm too sensitive.
I work at a Co-Op, so I'm used to birthdays where the bakers whip up something tasty and there's singing and cake. I've taken part in my share of sign the birthday card. Every month there's a list of B-Days up on the bulletin board. Last year, I was treated to cupcakes and said card and today--nothing. Not a single "Happy Birthday".
Okay, no big deal, but odd since I do hang out with certain people after work for drinks or going out for dinner.
Since last night and today, many on my f-list have sent my sweet Yorkie gifts and posted messages and sent me PMs. That's been the most awesome thing. THANK YOU!
When I got home, too many random things occurred and Eric and I got into a huge--like really bad argument. I was so angry and yes, stubborn--- I refused to go to dinner like planned. The good thing was we had a very meaningful conversation--one where we were honest with each other and actually communicated.
It was too late to go out and we settled in for a bit when one of our couple friends showed up at our doorstep drunk and in the middle of breaking up. He had to call friend to drag the boyfriend away and I told him to talk to Samantha since she was very upset, so he left to help her and I stayed home, because really...were the clown cars next?
So, at the end of the day, I'd say things were a toss up. I want to thank my f-list for being thoughtful. And did I mention that my mother in law was coming up for the weekend from Ga and backed out last night, after I took time off? (Haven't seen her in a year)
Oh, yeah, the weekend is looking good.
And everyone go read and send love to
tepring for writing “Three Embraces” for my birthday. It's sweet and heartfelt. Awesome Teyla POV with team and amazing h/c with Sheppard.
