Your fic was a breath of fresh air. Exciting, emotional, intelligent and you nailed Steves character. Steve can be pig headed and single minded but never a loose canon as some authors portray him. I love the friendship between Steve and Danny and the team, but again it's taken to the extreme in so many fics where Steve in particular is portrayed as errational and out of control if anything happens to Danny or the team.
You don't get to become a Navy Seal if you're prone to loss of control and errational behaviour. I love the flashbacks to Steve's past and his friendship and loyalty to Marcus. Steven for me is the kind of guy that would have close friends in any job. He has that amazing charismatic quality that draws people to him and is evident even when he puts up those emotional barriers.
Steve may have emotional baggage because of what happened to his mother and father and the type of work he does, but so many authors write him as a sad lonely figure that never knew what it was like to have a real friend until Danny came along, or who couldn't cope without Danny being there to keep him out of trouble.
I loved how you showed that Steves loyalty holds no bounds to those he cares about, and his determination to do the right keeps him going. You showed us why he has what it takes to be a Navy Seal, and as much as he is single minded, he's not a loose canon and as much as he cares about his friends he's not errational when it comes to their safety and well being.
I hope you write lots more H50 fics as there are a shortage of well writen, in-character Steve fics. Thanks for an amazing read.
