"Outcast" was the Bomb

I am one happy, happy fan. I'm not sure if I can really think at this moment. We got it all.
SIGH
Again not in depth stuff, just basic reactions.
++I'm happy that they had at least one little scene with Rodney at the beginning. He so wanted to go and really wanted to be there for Sheppard you could tell.
++John was all set to go alone back to earth and Ronon just decides all on his own, he's coming too. I grinned like an idiot! My Ronon and Sheppard friendship love knows no bounds.
++John was a college graduate, this is the second time we've been told this. Its believable, he's such a strategist and intelligent person. I bet he went to ROTC from there.
++Its freaking canon without spelling it out. Sheppard was involved in many top secret missions, all his inability to tell the truth to his wife, ending their marriage.
North Korea eh? Ohh that'll make it into fanfic now.
++I liked how they did his background, we were not given too much, with a lot left to our imagination. He came from a wealthy background, a controlling father and a brother who seemed to be only interested in the company. I did like in the end that John seemed to want to reconcile possible with him at the end.
++Loved that Ronon stopped every once in a while to see how John was handling everything.
++I liked Nancy, after joining Homeland security she gets a taste of the cloak and dagger that John had to do with her. "I learned from the best" oh my Sheppard super spy.
sigh
++I enjoyed the replicator storyline, there were a few plot holes, but enjoyed the twists and turns.
++Also Sheppard with a shotgun equals smoking hot! I loved how this was HIS show, his operation. Mr. in charge. Lots of action.
++I liked Bates! Holy crap! He was indeed a nice addition, working well with John. Made an agent.
God nothing but pure love for this episode. It had back story, dram, angst, and even some physical whump.
One of my favs!

Date: 2008-02-02 06:32 am (UTC)I'm so very satisfied with this eppy, even enough to balance the dread of a Keller/Carter/Mckay fest of next week.
Oh well can't have them all :D

Date: 2008-02-02 04:47 am (UTC)I'm even more happy to hear of so many canon confirmations, and that we now have some concrete back-story stuff we can use in fic. Though it's been fun, I've never liked having to come up with Sheppard back stories, mostly because I knew that, at some point, it would make the story ever so slightly AU.

Date: 2008-02-02 06:49 am (UTC)Yes, I'm happy they gave a reason for him not going and that he really wanted to and tried to offer comfort.
Oddly enough Ronon felt right though, he's not as whats the word....I dunno, I just think John needed someone who would be there, but not be so animated and awkward if that makes sense because I love both friendships to pieces, heck I'd love to see the three of them go.
In the end I liked it was Ronon and Shep.

Date: 2008-02-02 01:36 pm (UTC)I've got me some Ronon love as well :) Especially when he's loading up his plate at the family gathering, lol. And I also loved the scene at the beginning with John and Rodney - great friendship moment.
I enjoyed Bates being back. Agent Bates! I've always thought that the friction between Sheppard and Bates in Season 1 was great, and was disappointed when Bates simply fell off the radar.
And a strictly shallow observation on my part? Ronon and Sheppard were both absolutely gorgeous in this ep!

Date: 2008-02-03 02:37 pm (UTC)My only gripe with the episode was that there was no Teyla in it. I mean, I realize RL had been wrapped by the time the eppy had been shot, but I missed her. She and Sheppard have a nice bond and I would have liked to see what she would have said or done.
