Trying to think Postive

The shock and anger is still there, but a bit muted. friendshipper has a nice post about the fandom and how it'll carry on and maybe even expand.

It gave me a tad bit of comfort....I'm going to keep writing in it....I won't go away.

As much as I want another season, there was a time when I thought we would not get a 5th. I won't go on about my theories, but be happy to a degree we have 2/3rds a season of new eppys to enjoy without a hiatus.

And even though we have no 6th season, how many shows can say they will get something else? A movie while no substitute is better than nothing. It'll have a nice budget and we'll see our show again..and after that who knows. Not many fans of other shows can ever say that.

There will always be fandom especially if the show is on TV one way or another. With "The Sentinel, that show was cancelled in 1997 or '98 but the show is sitll on the SciFi channel, so that means people can discover it.

I have no doubt this fandom will continue. I've been in fandoms that are still active even though the show only has one season.

I'm trying to tell myself the same thing, that we got 5 years of show and at least one movie with Brad Wright predicting a whole series of movies - but I'm not getting my hopes up and besides, how many of the original cast would be willing/available to come back and make the movies? Okay, I'm getting myself depressed again X(

So yeah, I'm trying, really trying to see it positively. The thing is, if they said outright, when the show was picked up for the 5th season or at least before the season started airing that this was the series' last season, I wouldn't have taken it so hard. But everybody obviously knew it - Mallozzi is already working on the script for the movie - but they still kept us hoping and that's mostly what I'm angry about :( Okay, I'm getting depressed again. Sheesh!

I think they had hoped...I mean even Flanigan at Comi Con was of teh argument that they woudl want SGA to lead into SGU.

I had hoped for just one more and been realistic, this was shocking with the good ratings. Now, I'm just going to enjoy my last 14 eppys, keep writing and try to enjoy the movie.

You always post such fabulous photos, and ones I haven't already seen at times. Like that one with Shep and Lorne and the other two crew members standing against the wall in a row, and Lorne and the other two are looking at Shep with such adoration in their eyes. Like they all want to do him and can't believe such a hunk is their commanding officer. LOL!!!!!!! ;D

Sure, SGA fandom will live a long life. After all, isn't SG-1 still going strong?

These are really nice. The third one is funny -- the way they're all standing + Flanigan's expression, it looks like JF saying "man, this is the BEST hiding place, and you're totally blowing it for us!"
