Imago- Q&A.

This is the first time I've ever done this and I hope it doesn't seem too silly. SGA Big Bang suggested that we write up something about the writing process involved in creating our stories and mentioned that doing a Q&A would might be fun.
I thought maybe I'd do both...write up something about how things came to be, but thought a Q&A session would help guide that.
This way if you wanted to know anything about the story, how I came came up with aspects of the plot, the process I used to write it, any of the planning or anything else you can had a question about.
Got a question about “Imago” ......ask away.
Thanks guys!

Date: 2008-09-05 04:15 pm (UTC)In the infirmary after John's attempt to force the Wraith into hibernation, McKay is pushing John to try ascension and John can't admit to McKay the real reason he won't try.
So what is the real reason, and why is he reluctant to tell McKay?
I have some vague notion but John in your story was so real and alive, and I'd love to hear more details about how you see John.

Date: 2008-09-07 12:10 am (UTC)In doing this kind of "fork in the road" story, did your plotting process rely on the actual episode at all, or did you simply take the idea from the episode and then see where it went as its own thing? Did you end where you expected to end up?

Date: 2008-09-09 09:59 pm (UTC)What part of the fic didn't quite turn out as you expected?
If you could re-write a bit, what would it be?
Do you find it easy to slip into Sheppard's character? Which character do you struggle to write?
Do you write in order or do you write one chapter, go back, go forward etc......
What, for you, is the hardest part of the fic to write? I always struggle with the first line.....if it isn't right, then i can't continue. Do you have blockers like this? Or do you find it easy to start a story and then struggle with the end?
Do you have any particular writing tips? Eg. Grammar, action, the tenses etc....
Just a few questions..... well you said ask :D
