After a lot of craziness and the long hours and non-stop days in row at work, I honestly thought my muse was broken. I spent almost a month plodding at the slowest rate on the AU, realizing it'd be next year before I made much head way. Since it is a historical fic, I made the decision to file it away, to pick at once things calmed down. It's very intensive and while it will get done...it'll be a project I slowly work on. I've invested so much time in it already.

I did manage to get about half way through one shot, about 3800 words which used to be a breeze and is now a fairly huge deal for me with my limited time.

Also, I'm involved in the 'team' flashfic challenge with two other writers! I'm so excited by this ,because I think the premise is fun and to work with two of my favorite authors is a blast. Thank goodness for IM!

I'm psyched to get back to a more normal pace of writing, working it into my job-clogged life.

Then it's Secret Santa all the time, because I'm super-enthused about my prompt!

I feel lost when I'm not writing fic and I'm just happy to have found a way to carve out some time for it.

I know what you mean about life getting in the way. For the first time pretty much ever, I've been suffering from writer's block which has been...weird. It's partly burn-out, partly RL stuff interfering and not getting a reply to my team-up offer at flashfic didn't help the confidence :S
Anyway, glad things are getting back to normal for you! We'll look forward to the results :D

Glad your muse isn't broken! Life is so busy, especially this time of year (for me at least). I'm glad you've figured out a way to work writing into your schedule. I think I probably spend too much time writing some days - putting things off I know I need to do but that aren't immediately pressing. I'm just happy I'm writing - I didn't for years, so the fact that I've been able to find so much joy in writing again for the last year or so continues to astound me. I'm looking forward to your stories!!

I know exactly what you mean. I'm a notoriously slow writer to begin with and now when I finally have an idea for a fic I can't find the time to start writing it! The first sentence is always the hardest for me but once I get it, sometimes all it takes is the first paragraph to get me writing like a lunatic. The problem is finding the time for that first paragraph or writing one that I actually like.
