I admit, I watched the first thirty seconds and will see the rest over the weekend....maybe.

And in those thirty seconds, what did we learn?

Ronon and John were going camping! That was what John had planned for his leave time and that is what I'm taking away from the eppy :D

Stay with that. Believe me, don't go any farther. That was the highlight of the whole episode. In fact, I would have much rather watched Ronon and John's camping/surfing adventure than the McKeller crap that I now need brain bleach to wash out of my mind. Warning - don't watch this episode. Worst ever.

I think I'll delete it.

Yeah, I guess fanficers will have to come up with the 'B" storyline.

The first 40 seconds are the only seconds worth watching of the episode, well, cept for the snippets for the next episode. otherwise Brain Storm was...argh...

the medicine was malpracticed in this episode, and McKay was just a humongous "Marty Sue" for Gero.

You nailed it so hard! Rodney is Martin's Mary Sure. I recall how the Flan said all the writers were a ton of McKay's running around...

The only time Martin wrote for the other cast when he was forced to.

Big fat ITA from me here! Grrrr.

Gero should be given his marching orders, not writing for SGEwwww!

I thought the whole episode was ridiculous. The medical stuff was so rubbish, I laughed! As for the 'I love you' Perleeeeze. Goodness, I do wonder how these writers maintian real life relationships if they write them like they write McKeller!

See, I'm a slasher at heart, because all my brain can come up with out of that image is the two of them making out in a tent.

Which is okay with me.

Gero makes me want to change the pronunciation of my last name....

Gyah!

Okay, okay, okay - I will keep myself calm with the image of John & Ronon camping and surfing and getting all scruffy.

............ Yeah, that helps. =^.^=

Yes, make it so :D

You know, it makes it a little easier to take all this McKeller BS when we get to see lovely snippets of John in the beginning of episodes looking all put out that Rodney is with "her" instead of with John.

Ok, well, maybe it would make it easier if we got an entire episode of John stalking Rodney and "not Carson" through the halls making pouty faces and evil eyes at "her". :)

The shame is, I really loved Jewel Staite in Firefly. Five minutes into this HORRIBLE episode, I couldn't stand to look at her. When she rolled her eyes at Rodney in that plane I wanted to reach through and slap the crap out of her with one of Teyla's sticks....

I must stop before I go on forever. I'm going to go rewatch some of the great McShep moments of the season (as fleeting as they may be) and forget Keller even exists.

I liked her in Firefly as well. And for the most point she was okay, but the fanboy writers *cough Gero* had to put his mary sue stamp all over this.

Really. Am in agreement with your Ronon/John camping adventure.

Everything else following? blech!

I have no problem with Keller. Keller with Rodney? I'm not particularly happy with (yes I am a McShepper) but their interaction in this ep? major suckage! The whole thing was disgusting.

See, I've been prety neutral of Keller, I've seen aspects of her I like. And I like JS....I blame poor writing. And really, I'd be okay with the ship if it didn't take so much time from Ronon and Teyla....heck freaking Sheppard is the lead and doesn't really seem like it this season.

gawd that was one of the most painful things I've ever forced myself to sit through - 'comedy' aspects (physicists bickering like school children) were mildly amusing but that was about it

from Keller acting all school marmish - to her patronizing almost condescending treatment of Rodney when he truly had legitimate concerns - grr...

all I could think was all the Sheppard/Ronon people were probably having a field day AND that I would have died to see John accompany Rodney (wouldn't we have just paid good money to see the TWO of them in tuxes??? or John accompanying Rodney in his dress blues?????? SIGH)

cause all I came away from the ep with in regards to McKeller was dammit they have made Rodney completely pathetic - I mean he had issues - he will always have issues but now he's all sappy over Keller cause she was NICE to him AFTER she basically patted him on the head over his legit concerns AND scolded him - argh!

I know if John had gone with Rodney HE wouldn't have spent the whole episode nagging him to someone he's not. Heck, he would have egged him on and sat back to watch the show!

yeah, this season had lacked a good rodney and john eppy. I mean the "Shrine' had moments....but they is always our favorite duo and it was absent this year.

I don't like the sound of Keller making light of Rodney...thinking its better that I never see this.

John: You think he's ever going to make a move?
Ronon: Who cares

Um, Yep. That about sums it up.

Now I'm going to go hope someone wants to write a friendship fic about how John and Ronon's camping trip went. Humor, H/C, or just manly warrior type bonding.....

Can't promise you anything soon, but after the team flashic challenge and the secret santa....will be my next big Ronon and John solo adv and it promises to be another intense ride.

Until then I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for such a tag!

HEH. Sheppard is Flanigan in terms of what he likes to do. What a sucky episode. 1 minute of Sheppard???? Maybe they cancelled the show because they knew the writers were going to kill it with McKeller? Because I tuned out after the first minute too.

*shrugs* Personally, I didn't think the episode was that bad -- I was braced for romantic bickering and/or characters trapped together and forced to 'fess up their feelings (two of my least favorite tropes of all time) and there was actually very little of that; it was mostly a screwball comedy with gaddawful, 1950s B-movie science. I actually found the romantic bits sweet and fun, except for one obnoxiously ham-fisted part at the end, but otherwise tolerable considering that romance is not at all my preferred thing to watch (but then, I find Keller and McKay sweet, as I did McKay/Brown, even though I prefer them not to be quite so central to the episode as they were in this one).

The "science" and what passed for a plot was so awful that it was hilarious. But it would have been just as horrible if it had been John, Teyla or anyone else accompanying Rodney. It's probably not an episode I'll re-watch but not one that I disliked in the same way that I did, say, "Inquisition".

Of course, I watched it right on the heels of an episode of Supernatural that I found actively offensive on a number of levels, so a sweetly stupid episode of an earnestly clueless but well-meaning show was kinda the medicine I needed to stop me wanting to strangle Eric Kripke. *g*

It's odd. I like Keller, I write Keller. I love Rodney. And I much prefer him be with Jennifer than sickly-sweet Katie Brown who was wooden and and 2-D.

At this point in time, with the eppys ticking away I don't think I could take a whole eppy of cute Rodney and Keller shoved down our throats with all the subtly of a bull in a china store.

I'd prefer a Teyla and Ronon storyline. Or balance it out with the camping trip we didn't see.

Will I watch this at another date. Yep. But not right now, when I'm trying to savor the show and not let certain elements that I don't think have been handled in a proper balance ruin things for me.

If there had been a season 6...I don't think this would be an issue at all.

John and Ronon went camping!!! <3

I didn't watch the ep. Had no interest at all in watching McKay and Keller do whatever together. Ah well.

But I'm ecstatic to know that John and Ronon went camping! Oh, I bet they had a lot of fun, and also were attacked by cool alien monsters and stuff!
