60th Anniversary of Hiroshima
Aug. 6th, 2005 05:49 amToday around this time, the end of W.W.II was almost completed. We dropped a bomb on Hiroshima, the only country in the world to ever use a nuclear device. All debate aside, this kept us from invading Japan, which would have cost so many lives, keeping the war going.
However, on this date, one of the most terrorizing weapons in the world was unleashed and our lives were never the same. The horror of nuclear war was born this day..countless thousands killed, many more generations effected by the fallout.
Pray that this will NEVER happen again. Hope that no one ever has to bear witness to such torture and death.
For what we have now is 100 times worse than what we dropped over 60 years ago. A moment of silence and reflection on what happened. The brave men who carried out the mission, the countless thousands of innocents who died on this day.
