The SGA and SGA/SG1 panel from Dragon Con are so worth watching. I so love the chemistry, bantering and fun these guys have together. Loved seeing them with Ben and Claudia on the mixed panel. All of them are up here.
SO, I wonder if Joe really let Jason stay for free with him in Vancouver?
Anyhow, lovely bunch. After Rachel arrived the guys really had a great time teasing her it was like this spark for banter!
Then Joe was late for the combined panel..Awesome!

I am so pleased someone captured this panel on video.....
Of all the cast members of SGA/SG1, these are my favorites.
Finally,
I know they were roommates, I do not believe Jason
paid nothing........
Joe is such a tease.........
Thanks for providing the link!!!

Date: 2009-09-13 09:15 pm (UTC)Yep, Jason stayed for free. MGM paid for Joe's suite of rooms (well apartment, really. It had a kitchen, for example,) at the hotel, and Joe let him stay in the second bedroom for free as Jason didn't get any accommodation deal in his contract. Joe told Peggy and me this when we were on set. In fact we discussed their living arrangements quite a bit.. and what they both got up to together! HEHE!

Date: 2009-09-15 05:38 pm (UTC)It is so good to hear from you. I don't have time to go to GW very much and it was of the few places we got to chat. I hope you are doing well!! I wish you could have been at Chic con, but may another one in the future.
You need to be on LJ more!! This is the only place I really hang out online, I've been so busy writing!

Date: 2009-09-15 09:22 pm (UTC)Since dad died I haven't really felt like posting at GW really. I lurk on lj when I can, as I prefer it really. GW doesn't really appeal to me much any more, to be honest. I'm fond of the whump thread, but it's just pretty boring these days, IMO, and I've sort of lost interest in posting as I don't have anything much to say at the moment. I read the news thread there though to catch up on anything remotely interesting happening in the Stargate world and sometimes lurk in the whump thread to see what's going on.
I'm doing ok thanks. Working hard and trying to be supportive to mum as well as dealing with the kids and dog!
I'm glad you're writing. Can't wait to read some great Sheppy whump! I'm terribly behind on it all :(
Joe and Jason are like frat brothers, but they really do care for each other and are very loyal to one another, which I think is so sweet. However, Jason is a bit of a hell raiser and I get the feeling he leads Joe up the garden path a bit sometimes; though Joe is definitely the more adult of the two! Hehe! I gather they spent a lot of time drinking scotch in their time shacked up together. Joe commented that it was pretty depressing looking at all the empty bottles outside the hotel room door every week. I said I know how he feels when Tony and I look at the empty wine bottles stacked up for recycling in our garage! Lol!
I had such fun on set and at times like these it cheers me up reminiscing about those times. :)
How are you? Busy, I'd guess! Did you enjoy yourself at the Con? You did go, didn't you? What were your impressions of Joe? I'd be interested to know! :)

Date: 2009-09-16 07:14 pm (UTC)I haven’t had the internet at home for months now, maybe 4 or 5? First it was technical problems then we couldn’t afford to freaking switch, so I’ve only had bits of time to keep up my LJ and moding the Sheppard HC com. I should be getting it back soon, but the GW thread always jumped around too fast for me to keep with and on LJ it is easier to talk back and forth.
I’ve only written the John and Math fic since the genficathon. I’m about um..55k into the John and Ronon epic, but then Big Bang came along and well, it got sidelined. On the bright spot there will be two giant works come winter time.
Thank you for sharing your insights on Jason and Joe….I could imagine Jason being a bit of the devil on Joe’s shoulder…heh! You can tell there are great friends from the chemistry they have in public and I bet Jason is indeed a hellrasier.
I loved the con. I think Joe is a thoughtful, articulate man who knows a lot about the business, is forthright, kind, a tad reserved of course, but gives what he can for his fans. I have a detailed con repot here if you’d like to read it, but about Joe impressions and of the con.
Anyhow, please keep in touch!! PM me and I’ll give you my addy if you’d like.

Date: 2009-09-16 08:50 pm (UTC)So in that sense, it was a relief. He wasn't happy in the nursing home, and visiting him was very tense and difficult at times for all of us - heartbreaking, at times. We did our best for him, right up till the end, but I don't think he appreciated it at times really. But such is life! I like to think he's at peace now, and we're learning to live without him as best we can, while remembering him fondly.
Sorry about your net issues. :( What a pain!
I'll go look at your con report and thoughts now - sorry I missed it :(
I agree with your opinion of Joe. I also think he can be quite moody and serious at times, and that he's a bit of a rebel; he's not afraid to say what he thinks, and will fight for what he believes to be right even if it makes him unpopular with 'the man'. He's strangely self-confident for a reserved man in a lot of ways, which could be owing to his private education, or the fact that he comes from a wealthy family. I also think he's come to appreciate his fans much more recently, and that he's truly come to appreciate scifi as a genre as well.
In my opinion Joe isn't a 'people' person like David Hewlett is, for example. He struggles to make small talk and as a shy person struggles sometimes to know what to say. I find that rather endearing. I married a shy, quiet, attractive, dark-haired, slim man - who is brutally honest at times, very intelligent and knowledgeable too, so obviously I find Joe to be interesting! Hehe!
I'll PM you and pass on my email addy to you.
I can't wait to read your new story, when it's finished! :D
