It is the first day of a new year so it seems appropriate to set-up some short and long term goals. This will be all fandom related, since the ‘real’ stuff is can be a set-up for disappointment
By the way. I've been lisenting to XM's "First Wave" for a while, but they've been doing this Safety Dance remix party since last night. Blondie, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Pet Shop Boys, INXIS, Pop Will Eatitself and I just heard Front242!! So, awesome!
This month:
I have a holiday gift-fic I want to get done in the next few weeks.
I want to finish reading my list of Big Bang fics.
I want to tweak the Shep HC layout a bit more, just a few tiny things. Also I need to think about the next writing challenge.
Just in case I didn’t have enough on my plate I signed up to be a recer at
stargateficrec for January. Edit So, maybe it'll be another month. They only allow one category for friendship other than Sheppard and McKay for both fandoms at one time. Odd.
I still have two DVD commentaries I'm going to finish by request.
In the next couple of days I’ll do one of those end of year fanfic memes, but I’m waiting to post my Secret Santa since technically, I did complete in 2009, but you know. Edits and such.
Yearly Goal:
I have 50k words written in the John and Ronon epic that WILL BE FINISHED. I plan on starting it back up in the next couple of weeks and write on it only until it is done. I started it over a year ago, but I think a few solid months on it will give me the time I need to set it free. I think it’s my most creative work to date, so we shall see.
I have two original writing projects this year. One I hope to complete in the next six months, the other ones I just want to start and get a good leg into.
I hope to finally get into “Burn Notice” and watch the whole series.
We Tivoed all the “Doctor Who” movies and the David Tennant marathon going on. By the end of tonight we will have everything that he was involved in and my husband and I are going to watch it all. I know I’m started after his involvement ends, but I kind of prefer this way. I have everything on my DVR and I get skip the really um…cheesy bits, and we hit the really good, stuff I can just watch eppy after eppy and see all the movies in the right order.
Like many, I want to re-watch all the SGA seasons starting from the beginning.
I also can’t wait to see Joe Flaniagan’s new movie whenever it comes out.
Okay so not fanfic related, but I want to go out more. When we moved from GA, I retired from being a club prompter where I was out all the time. Putting shows together, bouncing from Atlanta and Athens, and dealing with artists, club owners, and alike. I don’t desire that level of craziness, but I think my three year hibernation to recover from it needs to end.

Perhaps with your background in promotion, you can rattle Joe's cage a bit; get him moving in the right direction for perhaps a series on USA......I think they have the winning stuff compared to all the other cable/network stations that do series stuff.
WE NEED Joe on regularly
The drought has set in...............

Date: 2010-01-02 09:31 pm (UTC)relatively unheard of before USA picked him up for the series,
and now is a smash.......plus the one who plays in White Collar
seems to be same. Something about USA that spells ****hit****
and that is what I am hoping for for Joe.
I also saw a clip this morning of that new series on Fox that
was made for Joe.......forget title now but it will be hitting
the airwaves this month.

Date: 2010-01-01 09:37 pm (UTC)The top billed actors are the first two, after that the other cast are listed in order of their "StarMeter" rating, which IMDb calculates somehow based on media mentions, site searches, projects, etc. I'm not exactly sure how. But it changes week to week.
It is why, when you look at Stargate Atlantis movie, Jewel Staite shows up higher than Joe. Right now Amanda Tapping tops the list, with Jewel, Chris Heyerdahl and Jason Momoa (who have both had recent in-the-news projects) before Joe. A few months ago, Joe was second or third.
Actually Patrick and Holbrook are also listed in order.

Date: 2010-01-02 12:23 pm (UTC)I figure, I've enjoyed seeing him in smaller roles, such as in 'The Other Sister'. I'm just excited to see him in something new. Hopefully it's a well-received indie film or heavily promoted tv movie, so he can get his face out there and earn some recognition...which might lead to bigger and better roles. *fingers crossed*
