I think the peak for most was this morning, but in case anyone was interested, you might be able to see Halley's Coment depending where you live in the world.

Wow thanks! I'd missed that so far. Spent several pre-dawn mornings on the beach 24 years ago looking at Halley's when it was here... Somehow, I remember having the energy to get up early back then!

Ha! Yeah, I remember the days I could stay up for 24 hours--and still got to work.

Tried seeing it today, no dice :(

Hm, I was almost going to say: Hey, it's back! And then I read that it had been near Earth back in 1986. Hm... At that time I was too young to go looking for a comet so with which one I'm mistaking it? *ponders* *scratches head*

Oh, it would be great to see a meteor shower but I never find the correct stars/star constellation... :(

I'm always too close to the city lights.

Hale-Bopp was 1997, was that the one? We observed the comet that exploded 17P/Holmes in 2007 right on our street, it got so bright. That one was freaky cool! Sorry for the geek moment, love astronomy stuff (though not enough to get up early in the morning, heh)
