Update?

I can't believe the summer is flying by! I've been busy at work, this is fresh fruit season and all the local berries are coming in and we're about to adjust to a bi-monthly sales process, which doubles my workload. It is neat to be located in the middle of town ( I walk to work every day) , the main road that runs through the city hosts all the major activities. In the last three weeks we've had the Pride Parade, a Race for the Cure, and next week is the "Stiletto Heel" .5k race.

I've been posting “Red Sands” the last week or so and while the fun and excitement for serialized novels has greatly diminished over the years, it's been neat watching people's reactions reading it as it goes. What I love most about this fic is the psychological storytelling that is involved and I've found as both a writer and reader I've grown much more interested in layered plots and character study over 'hit and run' stuff. (Which has its place like many sweet treats) :D

I'm going out of town in July to visit my mom and we're visiting Old Town Alexandria for a few days and I'm excited for that.

I've been pulled into “Criminal Minds" over the last month. I wasn't into it at first because I had watched this run of eppys where the plots were all focused on women getting kidnapped and tortured and it turned me off. But I've been watching off and on and have been intrigued enough to start with season one since A&E is showing them out of order. I've been watching season Two on Ion, but I'd like to start at the beginning.

I'm one of those waiting until all chapters of Red Sands is up, then I'm going to print it and read it in one go

Not you, too! Please say it ain't so. I think I've had more people tell me this than who are reading the story. Oh, well.

I've been getting some positive feedback about Criminal Minds and I'm fairly excited to have something new and shiny to enjoy.

I always use the genficathon to write something out of the norm, I'm just lucky there was any muse left to produce a fic! I still haven't finished reading them all, I'm sure yours was fine. We all get in ruts and our own worst critcs :D

I know! So not me ;) Heh, but like I said, this isn't usually something I do (as we only have so much ink on our printer) but since being on vacation put me behind, and I'm trying to be on the .Net less, I felt it best to wait. Plus, to use the Internet, I have to have my laptop where the TV is, and when the TV is on it makes reading difficult. I want to immerse myself in the story without having my attention fractured by some TV show.

I liked my story, in that it was a fun story to write (and I got Sheppard shirtless ;) Always a plus, right? :D) But I would've liked to have done something interesting with the prompt, just to see if I could. *shrugs* Oh well. There will be other stories to write, other prompts to inspire :D

I have to have my laptop where the TV is

Okay, I'll bite. This has nothing to do with fanfic, but if you're on a laptop, why do you need to be near a TV? Lap tops are portable and the TV has an off switch :-P


I'm really trying to find ways to be more outside this summer so I'm with you about trying not be inside as much. I'm lucky in regards that I'm near a lot of old neighborhoods, it's just so hard after working all day to convince my body it needs to be out running around and moving when my brain wants me to tune out for a few hours. I'm trying though as the winters here are really bad and I need to enjoy the sunshine when I can.

My laptop is rather old and doesn't have a wireless card, so I have to hook it up to the internet box's cord directly. And the box is where the TV is because that's the only place we can put it, use it and still be able to hook it up to the only phone jack in the house (seriously, our house has only one phone jack. We have no idea why). We also only have one TV and there's four people in this house, so... pretty much a no-win situation.

I hear you on the lack of desire to get out and about. I usually have to force myself to take part in activities outside my home. And that it's getting into the hundreds here won't help.
