Since I draw inspiration from writing from pictures and art, I have folder of various images. Here is another set with link resources and I've added a tag for these posts.

Too cool! I could have really used art like this when I was trying to come up with the concept for the dragon in my original story (you know which one ;)) I'm also on a bit of a steampunk kick with some of my stories, and being a visual person, art like this is gold :D

I'm still way behind on the chapter fics of the group, but will get there. Of course I'm in the middle of working nine days in a row...it never ends.

I like steampunk art, although don't read it. I had all these links in a folder for possible future use since I find the art interesting.

I thought of that the second I saw these pictures. It would fit so well!

Oh man, those are awesome. :D I adore the steampunk aesthetic while actually disliking about 90% of the fiction that's published as steampunk (as well as, er, being sort of scared of the hardcore steampunk people -- though I have friends who dabble in steampunk art and dress without going crazy about it).

But I really love steampunk fusion stuff -- with the steampunk/clockwork vibe but not actually set in Victorian England. STEAMPUNK WITH ALIENS and that sort of thing. :D

Oddly enough, I don't read steampunk fiction, I find the art interesting and saved a ton of links. Then I recalled a few people on my f-list mentioning it in passing and thought I'd share my resources.

Ironically, an image of a mask inspired a little one shot last night that has nothing to do with steampunk :-p

These images are awesome. I don't know if this concept in fic is new or I'm just discovering it, but the art it's created from is interesting. Any recs for steampunk stories? I presume the idea is they're besed in this environment? ....In fact, I think I may have read one about the team in a boat, like a steam boat - is that the idea? Sorry I'm an idiot about this.

Ok. I found a steampunk AU story;
This Versatile Genius, by SentientCitizen (PG-13) don't know if you've read it, I'm just about to.

I have not read it, let me know if it is worth saving. As I replied above I like steampunk art and thought I'd share, but never gotten into the genre for anything else.

Beautiful pictures but I have to admit that I don't like steampunk per se. The whole "modern done with old" is kinda... weird and... ugly, IMHO. I prefer the really modern, sleek look. Like, I hate the way Destiny looks, but I simply adore the city of Atlantis.

I enjoy the artwork, but don't read the genre. It seems like it has this interesting cult-like following as far as the 'culture' is concerned.

Beautiful! There is simply not enough steampunk in the world. And I want an airship so very badly.

The airship was very cool :D

Um, WOW!!!! These are great!

I'm not too much into the Steampunk Genre (I'm still not to a 100 % sure that I really understand what Steampunk is about) but I love the art. It makes my imagination go wild! :)

I've read some fics in the genre and I think I enjoyed them (it's a bit since I've read them). Sadly, I only remember a Supernatural one in which Dean manages to let the Impala run on a steam engine... There have to be some SGA ones too. *puts it onto the "Go looking for" list*

A few of those links explain the culture and there is a wiki article on it, but I find the artwork very intriguing although I don't read in the genre.

I only have a vague idea as to what the genre is about, but I find it quite fascinating and I love these pics - so evocative. I think I could get into steampunk - not sure where to begin though.

I love the imagery although I don't venture into the genre, it really has this odd cultist interaction.
