Random Update

I haven't been really active online of late. Been processing some personal things and then I got sick this week. I didn't go to work today and slept in and lazed around on my sofa. I feel better. No more high fever and crazy coughing, but I've lost most of my voice...lol

On the downside, I'm going to use up precious vacation/personal hours when I have an upcoming vacation in March to visit my mom. On a further down note, I found out Ben Browder is going to be at Chicago Con in addition to Chris, Joe, David and Kavan and it depressed because I can't afford to go this year.

But let's look at the positive.

On an up note, my personal fiances have not only stabilized, but I actually have bit of spending money for once on a normal bases and that is a HUGE deal and something to celebrate!

Before I got sick, Eric and I splurged on a really amazing dinner last weekend complete with yummy salad, spicy potatoes, and the most succulent Fillet Mignon. Sigh. I want that again!

I spent today re-watching "Hawaii Five-O" from the beginning again and I have seriously fallen for the show. Thanks to my f-list's encouragement for sticking with it for some of those really teamy episodes in the later middle half.

I may have even *cough* written a H5O fic. Eeek!

On the original writing front there's been a great amount of progress in the research and I got my John and Ronon fic assignment last week and am musing over it.

And if anyone hasn't heard, Joe's new movie for Sy Fy is airing on April 9th :D

Supernatural and Justified are in full swing and I just ordered a pizza so I don't have to cook :D

{{{Hugs}}} Being sick and losing your voice is no fun - I went through the same thing late last year when I had to deal with all my other unpleasantness - just when I needed to scream at people. Definitely baby your voice - don't force yourself to talk. My other suggestion is to alternate hot and cold compresses against your throat - supposedly it can help loosen all the phlegm up (this tip came courtesy of a family member who is a singer).

Sorry you won't be able to make Chicago but I am sure plenty of us can hook you up with pics and the like. H50 is just fun - not always the greatest plots and writing, but lots of one-liners, action, and buddy-buddy time - kind of like another show I used to watch...

H5O is something I can look forward to with lots of banter and action and that has been missing for a couple years..

I will count on you and the others to make me feel like I went to Chicago!!! :D

Still waiting on those Justified season one DVD's, they must be really popular, I'm thinking of giving up on the renting and just buying the boxset... and then I can blame you if I don't like it. :p

No Hulu in the UK yet. And as I currently have to share a very slow broadband connection and a download limit with 4 other adults I'm not able to *ahem* source my entertainment elsewhere. Oh and Amazon UK are currently not selling the boxset because there was some sort of issue with the episodes being in the wrong order on the discs.

I'm starting to think its a conspiracy. *lol*

Feel better! There are an awful lot os sick people around. I have time off next week, and it seems whenever I plan a vacation, I get sick.

Sorry to hear you were sick, but glad you're on the upswing. So many bugs going around this time of year. Was 50 degrees today - no coat! Felt so good. Happy that your finances are allowing you some discretionary spending, too. That is super news.

Jumping for joy that you have fallen for H50, too. So excited and looking forward to reading your fic. Congrats on the research front. Ooh, John and Ronon fic, too. All sounding fantastic. Plus now we can look forward to and start the countdown to April 9.

Weather is crazy! Semi warm now about 40 and then back to snow next week.
