The Voice is a guilty pleasure. I think it's the best talent whatever show on TV. It's obvious they're doing things on the fly as far as production and rules. I was loling at some parts during the live show tonight.
I've watched since day one and I love, love the judges. They're not pretentious, seem to enjoy what they're doing, and have great chemistry/banter.
I was sold during the duet of Radiohead's "Creep" two weeks ago, but tonight was so much fun. By picking artists who are somewhat seasoned but are still amateurs gives the show a higher quality feel. It's also cool that the vocals range between pop, rock, r&b, folk, and everything in between.
I might also have a crush on Adam. (I have an archetype, yes I do)

Date: 2011-06-12 03:50 pm (UTC)I was lucky. I had a 5 days warning (and only because I follow Maroon 5 on Facebook, otherwise I would have been standing in front of the concert hall and being told that there is no concert that night since there was no information about the resheduling in the media; I really don't want to know how many people were standing there and being told that) but in Germany people had only a one day notice. And that sucks big time when you have paid a flight, an hotel and taken days off in order to go to a concert only to get told that they don't come because the singer is a judge in a talent show (yes, I'm very bitter). Everybody understands it when someone in the band is sick or a family member is sick or the weather is too bad and the trucks with all the stuff they need can't make it. But for a TV show?!?
They resheduled for December. I'm curious if they make it then, since some years ago they already cancelled their (would be) first concert in Austria. Maybe third time is the charm.
*stops spreading negative thoughts in your journal* *sorry*

Date: 2011-06-12 05:21 pm (UTC)I think, sometimes the bands/their management/whoever is in charge don't get what lengths their fans are willing to go in order to have a chance to see and hear them live. As I said above - I was very lucky and even if I didn't know about the rescheduling I would have "just" lost an evening but other people... And then to get a video message which basically says that they are sorry but we have to understand what a great chance this is... Yeah, it's a great chance but that doesn't change the fact that they disappointed a lot of people who don't even have a chance to see that show and maybe even lost a lot of money. *sighs* That's what makes me (and a lot of other people) angry about the whole thing. But, let's see what December brings. Maybe they manage to make it up with an awesome concert (if they show up ;) *g*).
Maroon 5 has some great songs. In my opinion their first album was their best (some songs on their current third one are great too).
Oh, he is the host of the show? From what I remember from the post and the video message it was said that he is "just" a judge...

Date: 2011-06-12 05:57 pm (UTC)Management of bands never understand a fan's viewpoint of the money and time invested to go see them. I'm sorry sorry that stuff happened.
I wonder how fast the TV show was put together if that little notice was given about the concert cancellations? The show is a huge ratings giant and the network really didn't expect it to be. They've had to add more episodes and have already ordered a second season. Ce-Lo, Blake Shelton, Christina and Adam/Maroon 5's popularity has also exploded from what I've read in entertainment sites.
Their chance paid-off, but it sounds like at the expense of UK fans. I'm sorry for that.

Yeah, it makes me wonder too. I'm happy for them and what that means for their own careers but there's always a mixed feeling with it.
