Writing Update

I always know when work/life is trying to kill me based on how much I channel my stress. I actually get a lot of writing done although everything else falls behind. Reading for one, but I try making up for that on the weekends.

I posted my NCIS fic "Anchor and Hold" this week and I'm pretty happy how that turned out. I'm glad I wrote it because I really got pulled back into the show and I forgot that I've been watching it for over seven years and never talk about it! lol

I started my Sheppard HC story after a lot of happy research time and found a really cool theme to explore. After writing in the fandom for four years, I'm always tying to do something new or creative. That's due August 1st, but I hope to get it done in the next couple of weeks before I go out of town.

I've really started to flesh out the plot to my next Hawaii Five-O story. I am STOKED about this one. I finally have what I feel is a full in-depth story that will allow me to do some real character exploration with multiple story-lines! I know that sounds geeky, but this will allow me to write more Chin and Kono with a hefty Danny and Steve plot. And, I get to really dig into SEAL!Steve some more.

Whoo-hoo! Congrats on your NCIS story. The Sheppard HC idea is intriguing - you have me guessing/wondering what the theme is. I know it will be great; looking forward to it. You have me geeked for the H50 story - love me some SEAL!Steve and character exploration. Will be Christmas in summer with these two fics in the pipeline. Can't wait!!! Hope the RL stress is manageable, don't want you suffering for your art. Twirls you - I love your imagination.

The NCIS story was a happy place to romp around in I admit :D

After thinking on it, it's not so much the 'theme' of the Shep HC fic as is the narrative that I'm excited about. I like what I have and it feels different to me and that keeps the muse happy. :D

I'm hyped on the H50 story and it follows everything we talked about in our e-mails. My goal is to keep the story concise, but packing a punch.

Eh, on RL. It's up and down, but I have a lot of fun things to look forward to soon!

It is sad that I am both excited and depressed by this update. Excited the prospect of fic to read and devour and enjoy but depressed as I am so far behind in my own writing AND not allowed to read fic until I finish... sigh.

I completely understand what you're talking about when it comes to wanting to finish writing before reading anything. I use reading as a reward system myself :D
