I don't watch a ton of television in the grand scheme of things. In fact this is the first time in many years where I have a show that I enjoy every night of the week. (This doesn't include stuff like Pawn Stars, American Pickers, Top Gear, or any of the non-scripted shows I enjoy.)

Mondays-- are of course Hawaii Five-O night, which I can't wait for! What a surprise. It's one of the few programs I actually watch on the same night it airs vs. timeshifting to the weekend and that I'm very fannish about.

Tuesdays--is a double shot of NCIS, however I've been leaning toward LA in my excitement of late.

Wednesday-- I watch CSI although it's more as a good old stand-by more than anything real type of enthusiasm.

Thursday-- I want to rec Person of Interest. I just re-watched all the eppys over the weekend. It has suspense, action, mystery and a very fresh feel. I like Reese because he's that tragic hero type, ex-special forces guy trying to do some good. Mr. Finch is the guilt ridden genius and I've enjoyed watching them slowly build up trust between each other. There is a strong female who dresses, acts and behaves like a real detective who is dogging them and the guy who plays the dirty cop is a hoot.

Friday-- is Supernatural night. Season seven is soooo much better than last year's. I'm really digging the 'back to basics' of the show.

Once Jan hits, Justified should be back on FX!

As far as music goes. I'm been listening to the entire Radiohead back catalog from start to finish..lol. I tell you that makes for some interesting mood music for writing.

What about you F-list? What's got your eyes and ears?

Hmmm. I'm liking Once upon a Time so far, and Holmes Inspection of all things is fun. I'm still into Castle; I'm still watching House but I don't really know why. Criminal Minds is an old friend; I'm giving American Horror Story a few more episodes, but I'm still not convinced I care. Chuck is still engaging, but Grimm is dreadful and I don't know if I'm giving it even one more episode. And the second season of Men of a Certain Age has been sitting on my DVR for months now; that's a show that I always have trouble starting and always enjoy once I bother.

Not much overlap between us! Hee.

Musically ... I generally keep my 6k+ collection on shuffle. Today it's leaned heavily towards R.E.M., They Might Be Giants, and Jim Infantino. Apparently today is "quirky" day.

Man, I forgot about Criminal Minds, only b/c this season for me has been horrid. Which is frustrating! They finally got the band back together and I was all smiles and excited. But I HATE all the cases lately and was very annoyed with how they rushed the thing with Rossi's ex-wife. I do watch for Spencer though and I should prolly go find this week's eppy.

Was it any good?

I used to watch Holmes on Holmes for several seasons on Garden and I should go find him again:D I was so sad when REM retired (Athens, Ga girl for seven years) but they went out after putting out a pretty decent CD after a few years of meh.

I'm trying to remain happy about CM because I feel like it's at least better than much of last season. The thing with Rossi's ex-wife was weirdly rushed, yeah. As for the most recent episode ... definitely a strange and intriguing case, but they're planting seeds for JJ/Will that may make me rage, and the contrast the show itself sets up between the expectations on JJ and the expectations on Rossi is just strange. (And angry-making, in my case.) I just don't know.

I got into R.E.M. ... probably around the "Monster" days, I think, and worked backwards from there until they started releasing more. I've adored pretty much every album up through "Around the Sun", but after that I largely stopped listening to albums-as-albums, which has definitely affected my exposure to the most recent ones. They're in the mix, but I don't think anything has yet reached out and grabbed me and made me sit down with the album for a few days. (That does happen occasionally. Strangely enough, Cee-Lo Green and Sarah Harmer are two of the CDs in my home stereo system for when I don't want to fire up the randomizer. Along with Mumford and Sons, Vienna Teng, and a Massive Attack sampler. Commonality? I can't find any! ... and since I posted my first comment here, my randomizer has gotten into a Cowboy Junkies mood. Strange.)

I saw REM during thier Monster tour which was great.

Sounds like your random selection is like mine. I have everything from Pink Floyd, NIN to Masssive Attck, DJ Shadow to Kanye West :-P

Though when I 'pick' my music it tends to be downtempo in nature.

I look forward to Fringe all week - it's well-written, with great characters, and it always surprises me; I never can anticipate their plot twists.

Beyond that, there's nothing else I'm watching in realtime 'til White Collar comes back in January. Not really watching a whole lot of TV right now at all, actually; I'm watching Slings & Arrows on Netflix and really enjoying it, and otherwise I've mostly been reading in my spare time.

I'm more likely to save up shows and then marathon them. My husband is so busy during the school year that he doesn't usually have much time for TV, so I either have to watch shows that he's not really into (like Slings & Arrows) or save them to watch over the semester break or during the summer.

And this year is a bit lite on TV for me anyway - several shows that I used to watch no longer hold my interest, and Fringe (which I just got into at the end of last season) is the main thing that I'm eager to watch each week. We still have all of Justified season 2 to watch; I really like it but, I don't know what the deal is, I guess that I'm just not really into TV all that much at the moment. I'm sure I'll come back around eventually. :D

I don't watch much....

Rescue Me which airs on Sunday night - which we watch on the Pc later because we usually forget to set the machine...

H50 - MUST SEE TV on Monday night....usually from a link some thoughtful person puts up BEFORE it airs up here...

NCIS:LA but later in the week....when we both have time and won't fall asleep

Blue Bloods either that same night or later on the Pc...

and that's it! :)

I tend to watch H50 early too, only b/c I hate staying up that late watching TV vs. slowing down by reading at the end of my night.

Except for H50 and SPN, I tend to record everything to watch on the weekends.

Monday: How I met your mother, Castle (I am really enjoying the current season), House (I really have to start watching the current season. Just have not the courage yet.)

Tuesday: NCIS (all good episodes this season so far, really liking the Tony-Gibbs interactions and smart Tony so far. Looks the the writers finally listened to the viewers)

Of course there's White Collar, Warehouse 13, Eureka which are on hiatus right now. I'll see how the first WC episode in January goes, will then maybe continue with the show.

Wednesday: -

Thursday: Mentalist (Not really sure about the episodes so far. Just downloading them for now, will see how the season goes) The Big Bang Theory (really love this one, very funny), The Office (sometimes, just to shock myself with the characters)

Friday: Supernatural (just finished watching all 6 seasons and caught up with it) Sanctuary, Fringe (I keep saying I will start watching it again, but like with House, I am waiting for some sign or something to start the current season)

Saturday: Merlin (really pleased with some episodes this season)

Sunday: Dexter (I have no clue why I still watch this, but just have some strange fascination for it)

I really watch too much TV....

As for music: Have been listening to Hugh Laurie's Let Them Talk (have become a Blues fan)

Monday is Hawaii 5-0 and Castle. I tried Terra Nova and got bored with it.
Tuesday is both flavors of NCIS, although like you, I'm liking the LA version more - the team just seems to have a weird joyful chemistry and Hetty rocks.
Wednesday: Revenge - a new show that has hooked me. Think the Count of Monte Cristo as a modern day soap opera.
Thursday - Person of Interest - I love the twists and I love seeing the actor who plays Finch as a tormented good guy after he played such a baddie on Lost.
Friday - Sanctuary - it has it's flaws, but it's fun.

Music - A bit of old - REM and the Ramones and new - Muse, Authority Zero, and Mumford and Sons.

I've just dropped QI due to Stephen Fry smugness overload and Community because I realized that although I got all the jokes I didn't find them all that funny, so right now I'm not watching anything. I've slowly started a SGA rewatch, but that's about it.

What is QI?

Yeah. I used to only be a SNP and SGA gal for the most part except the occasional show, but it's nice to have a few to enjoy.

From: [identity profile] gaffsie.livejournal.com
Sorry! Sometimes I forget we're not in all the same fandoms. QI stands for "Quite Interesting" and is a British panel show led by Stephen Fry. It's supposedly a quiz show, but it's really about putting a bunch of funny people on a panel together. It's been on for several seasons now and although it used to be hilarious, I feel like it's lost its charm by now, and it doesn't help that Fry has proved himself to be a smug misogynist dick in different settings either.

Here's a classic moment from the show:

They were supposed to come up with things that rhyme with "orange".

30 Rock will be back in January, so at least I'll have one show to watch then.

The Walking Dead on AMC. I don't have much to say about it other than it's a zombie series!

And Terra Nova, though I don't feel too strongly about it, it's something I'll catch while it's on if I remember but if I don't I'll watch it whenever I remember, but it has dinosaurs and really sometimes that's all it takes for me.

I've been listening to The Gaslight Anthem like crazy for the last few months and still haven't gotten bored with them. They're kind of a blusey rock.

And Straylight run, just because everyonce in awhile you need some depressing music.

Lot of ppl have mentioned The Walking Dead. I wanted to check it out and discovered the network got rid of the creators so I wasn't sure if season two would be any good..now I'll wait to see if the canning of the writers hurt it or not. Seems like it hasn't.

Oooo fun! Okay, here we go. :)

Sundays (ironically, the busiest TV night for me O_o): Once Upon a Time, Homeland (&hearts), Hung, Walking Dead, Misfits

Mondays: H50, Castle, HIMYM, Hart of Dixie (my new favorite, but of course I'm biased), Gossip Girl (don't ask)

Tuesdays: Ringer (yup, just that)

Wednesdays: Revenge, American Horror Story (but I have to be in the right mood; I'm a wuss; and I'm way behind), Suburgatory (&hearts &hearts &hearts)

Thursdays: Community, Grey's and Private Practice (though I usually watch the last two on Hulu on Fridays instead) and Terra Nova (bit behind there)

Friday: Grimm

Russ and I were TRYING to rewatch Supernatural, but life got in the way. I imagine we'll catch up someday. :P

And music-wise? Aaron and I went to see Patty Griffin in concert in October and ever since then, I can't stop listening to her. I might stick in Mumford & Sons occasionally.

I'm currently fanning hard on Flashpoint, which airs Tuesdays. It has a wonderful team-y feel to it and I like that it's ask questions first and shoot later ;o) Plus, I've fallen in love with the Spike character (Sergio Di Zio) ;o)

I don't watch a whole lot else. I watch NCIS and NCIS:LA, and like you I'm starting to lean more towards LA because of the team chemistry.

Then there's Hawaii 5-0, which I watch but not religiously.

Other than that I've started re-watching SG-1 from the beginning and am enjoying that a lot. Makes me realize how much I miss having new episodes of SG-1 and/or SGA around!

I'm not watching much TV.

Tuesdays there is White Collar which I normally watch live and Thursdays is NCIS:LA which I normally record and watch on the weekend.

Supernatural Season 5 is airing over here on Mondays at the moment but since I've already marathoned the DVDs I'm not watching it on TV anymore. But, I'm waiting for the Season 6 DVDs and hope that they'll be released in early spring like the Season 5 ones. :)

I'm also hoping that H50 returns soon with the second season.

But other than that is nothing interesting for me on TV at the moment. I gave up on Criminal Minds, CSI + CSI:NY, The Mentalist, House and NCIS ages ago and for example Fringe never managed to catch me...

Regarding music - ui, my taste of music is all over the place. At the moment a friend of mine tries to convince me of Kelly Clarkson and I'm eagerly awaiting the album releases of Nickelback and Snow Patrol. Two weekends ago I got a Linkin Park "attack" and listened to nothing else the whole weekend and yesterday on the Sunrise Avenue concert they did an awesome cover of "Bohemian Rapsody" and now I once again want to listen to everything Queen created... :)

In the way of drama series I'm really not watching all that much at the moment. Just Fringe and Once Upon A Time really - the latter has surprised me. I watched the first episode just to see how awful it was and ended up really rather enjoying it. It is ridiculous but there's something really endearing about it at the same time and I'm liking the cast. Oh and the first season of Alphas has just started over here so I've been checking that out, not bad for a Syfy show.

In a shout out to Brit TV, a brilliant little supernatural/horror series (6 eps) called The Fades just finished here which I really enjoyed. Hopefully Auntie Beeb will see fit to give it a second season.

And in non-drama there's Frozen Planet, a new natural history show from the BBC and David Attenborough following life in the polar regions, which is just stunning.

There are other shows like H50, The Walking Dead etc that I'll catch up on when they reach these shores on a channel I have access to or on DVD but I find that although I want to see them I'm not really finding the need to go out of my way to acquire them as soon as they air Stateside.

Musically I'm listening to a little bit of everything really. New music wise there's really not much that's floating my boat. Been listening to a lot of folk or folk inspired stuff in particular. Mundford & Sons and Noah & The Whale are favourites.

Since I can only keep up with shows online, at the moment I'm only watching Supernatural. I had a season 4 marathon over the weekend to get me in the mood. I bought seasons 5 and 6 on Sat and I'm anxiously waiting for the DVDs. I'm loving season 7 so much more than season 6! I'm in grave need of money so I can get cable. Monday: TV: Hawaii 5-0, of course! I work 1-9 on Mondays, rush home and settle in to some eye-candy.

Tuesday: NCIS, though I prefer the original to LA, and Covert Affairs.

Wednesday: Usually get a lot of writing done.

Thursday: Bones

Friday: I've been watching Grimm and catching SPN later. After last year, and the early episodes this year, I'm not feeling the same love , which makes me sad. :-(

AND Sanctuary -- which is one of my favorite shows on TV now.

Saturday: Usually Movie night.

Sunday: Food Network. The Next Iron Chef at the moment.

Compiling the list in my head I realized, I watch a lot of tv! But actually, I really "listen" to a lot of tv, and it's all on the computer. :-) It makes good background noise when painting. Can't do it when I'm laying out a book, or doing sketches or anything *thinky* but if I'm just painting, helps the day go by faster.

The only shows I will try to make the effort to watch live are Leverage and Psych.

I usually watch the Daily Show with Jon Stewart the next morning. I love That's Clever, a craft show on HGTV. I cycle through Jimmy Fallon, Conan and Letterman - whichever fits my fancy.

I watch all the Thursday night comedies: Big Bang Theory, Community, Parks and Rec and The Office, but slowly losing interest in the NBC shows.

I like Castle, used to watch White Collar but got behind and accidentally deleted all the back episodes from my dvr (D'oh) so haven't done anything to catch up.

I think that's about it. Music-wise, the defaults currently are Laura Marling, Florence + the Machine, Elbow and Mumford and Sons. Just found out gonna see Sting in two weeks, so that'll be fun!

Oh, man. I watch a lot of TV. A LOT. I was going to list it out here, then got horrified at the number of hours it entailed. And yet, when I try to eliminate some of these shows, I can't. I love TV so much!

Here's something I started watching and it has been fantastic. There's a documentary on the History Channel right now called "Vietnam in HD." It is really done well - intense, gritty, and at times graphic. I'm not sure how many episodes it is, but the History Channel seems to be re-broadcasting them constantly. I highly recommend it!

Psych
Criminal Minds
Fringe (sometimes)
Primeval (and before that Bedlam)
Getting into Person's of Interest
Supernatural, sadly, I'm losing interest in but I still watch it.
The Walking Dead
The Mentalist
Sanctuary

Aaand that's about it, I think. Shows like NCIS I'll watch if I happen to be in the room at the time but it's not "must see!" for me these days

Wow, what don't I want? LOL
Mondays are H50 and like you, the only show that I watch in real time. I DVR Castle at the same time, oh and I have all of Terra Nova DVR'd too.
Tuesdays are NCIS and NCIS LA, although LA is the preferred one, NCIS has gotten old for me and even though I like the way the cast is being written this season, it's no longer a Must Watch Right Away show. I also watch Parenthood, Glee, and (hangs head in shame) 90210. Ooh, and not to forget Covert Affairs and White Collar when it returns.
Wed is X-Factor which I like to watch with the kids, and I have all of Revenge on DVR but haven't seen any of it yet.
Thurs is Grey's,Person of Interest (all still on DVR), Private Practice and Burn Notice (still trying to catch up from the last season on that one).
Fri I sit and and enjoy the Disney shows with my 8-year-old, and then a rewatch of H50 with the 12-year-old :)
Sat is for catching up on DVR'd stuff,
and Sun is Once Upon a Time, Desperate Housewives and Pan Am (still haven't started watching that one yet)

The Halloween snowstorm messed me up - 5 days without power really set me back on catching up and now I'm stressing that those shows On Demand won't be there by the time I catch up on the DVR'd episodes :)

Isn't watching TV supposed to be relaxing? LOL

Monday: Castle. Come for the Nathan Fillion, stay for the fun! And the supporting characters are as adorable as Nathan!
Hawaii 5-0. Sure it's pandering and over dumbed down for me but I LOVE DANNO SO MUCH!!!!
Hmm, it seems that Monday is my bromance night what with Danno & Steve in Hawaii and Ryan & Esposito in Castle.

Thursday it's a NBC marathon: Community, Parks & Rec, 30 Rock (when it's back), & The Office.

Friday: Chuck. The writing's not as great as the first two seasons but I still love all the characters to bits.

I watched the pilot of Once Upon a Time and liked it. I'm going to save up the season and watch it all at once, like reading a book.

Weekends are for my Deep Space 9 rewatch and I've been watching walkthroughs of all the Uncharted games. It scratches my Indiana Jones itch but good!

Musically, I've been hunting up amazing mash-ups and remixes. Soul of Fireflies and Heartless are a couple of amazing ones. Along with Sweet Dreams of Seven Nation Army.

I love HFO - it's my favorite thing on TV and despite the whole furore this season I still think it rocks way more than it sucks. Walking Dead is my other favorite show, I love it so hard.

I like Criminal Minds but am way behind as only discovered it last year. SPN too.

Tried to watch Strike Back Project Dawn but couldn't as DVR messed up but am currently watching the original Strike Back and it's WAY better than project dawn, which was great but Strike Back is awesome.

Watch Terra Nova but fast losing interest. Mad Men. Game of Thrones is great. Got season one of Breaking Bad to try. Am trying an American Horror Story but not sure what the heck to think of that one! Also watch a lot of comedies. Lots of Brit comedy like Alan Partridge and Pheonix Nights (funniest thing ever) and also loving Flight of The Conchords.

My only 'must see' tv right now though is Walking Dead and HFO, most other stuff I watch on DVD or have on my DVR.

Pawn Stars, American Restoration, Storage Wars, Ice Road Truckers, Two and a Half Men, Glee, The Mentalist, Boardwalk Empire and Game of Thrones (ok, sorta British with that cast!)

Monday - Terra Nova, Castle (my favorite show right now), and Hawaii Five-0 (yay for DVRs!)

Tuesday - NCIS, NCIS LA (I thought the last 2 eps of both shows were really terrific)

Wednesday - CSI, Psych (sometimes I laugh until it hurts)

Thursday - Person of Interest (really enjoying this), The Mentalist (love Simon Baker but they aren't keeping the show fresh so I might not stick with it)

Friday - Blue Bloods (ahhh... Donnie Wahlberg)

Other shows I enjoy (some are on now, some aren't): Burn Notice, White Collar, Suits, The Closer, In Plain Sight, Eureka (*sob* I miss it already), Warehouse 13, Law and Order UK, Justified, The Glades (though if it doesn't improve next season I will drop it), and Leverage. Crime shows? Me? Whatever do you mean? :D

As for music, I put my iPod on shuffle and just listen all day long (almost 3500 songs and it's an eclectic mix). Preferred radio stations are country. But it's getting close to December so the Christmas music will be playing continuously for a while.
