.Why is it when you have a nice cool idea in your head it does not translate well into words?

Fate tried to fuck with me last night when I got a bad sinus attack right in the middle of things. I was ticked since I did a lot to make sure I had a few hours to write without interruptions. Though what I wrote under cold meds wasn't that insane!

The fist half of the chapter tone wise I'm happy with, but once the case starts, it drifts. We shall see, it might read better when its done. There is a lot going on in the first four chapters so that always makes me nervous, but it worked well before.

Have about 3500 words of chapter one down before it looked very odd to me. Will try to finish and go back and repair things that look wonky.

I think this first chapter will be about 5000 words, kind of meaty, but there's a lot of set up that needs to be done, so hope people don't mind.

Watched some Winter X-Games today, very cool no pun intended. Ended up staying home because I still feel kind of wiped out, so no movie today. growl.

Preparing for the Windows Vista Launch this Tuesday...joy.

Kristen, you don't demand much of yourself, do you?! :-P LOL

It's going to be fantastic, I can feel it. It just can't not be given the subject material and the author (now, don't misconstrue that as pressure: I just know that you don't let anything out until you're happy with it, and when you're happy, we're all deliriously about the story :-) )

So, take your time, be patient and don't burn yourself out. I don't want to have to write a story about a writer's downward spiral because she burned herself out writing about someone else's downward spiral... Ok, I'm rambling. *grin*

Sounds like you've written a tonne already. Thanks for the updates, these are great to get while we await posting.

I can be pretty demanding on myself lol. I tend to fiddle with stuff a lot, in my writing process, I tend to write streams of thoughts on paper, get the meat of the action and thought down , then go back and mess with the core of whats there.

I won't burn myself out, i fact I kind of waited loner than I wanted on this one, but I feel the desire now for it, and thats what is driving me. Its the first few chapters that are always the hardest.

Re-read the parts that bothered me and now I think I kow how to re-tool them for tommorrow.
