Hmmmmm. Wonder what a small taste means? This is TVland so they would ignore the fact Steve would have to train with a team for months before a mission so I'm curious.

I've been thinking about this so much since he's transferred. I'm thinking maybe it's where he has to do some training for the weekend or whatever and something happens?

That would be interesting. I wish we got a glimpse of some of his training in the reserves.

When I was contemplating a plot regarding this my 'work around' was that Steve was called for a mission regarding an important political/military contact that only trusted Steve to work with or for an extraction so timing was important. Because even in the reserves Steve would not be in "SEAL" shape to go on a mission with another team.

Either way. I'm fascinated. :D

There should be like a war games episode or something. That would be a neat way to show it.

In regards to the fic aspect of Steve being in the reserves, I wonder how many writers take into account that in order for him to go out on a mission, he'd possibly have to do months of training, before the actual mission.

Ohhh. That's a cool idea.

A lot of fic writers don’t even know about the year + training that SEALs go through after BUDs. But I have see some stories that include the fact that he would have to train, but a lot just have him just be plucked out.

Snort, not only that when they get called up its usually a year assignment.....

My cousin was called up (went in August), did 2 months of him and his reserve unit training for their assignment and won't be back until August of this year.

That will be interesting but you know they are going to blow off the training. SuperSEALSteve doesn't need to train! He can do EVERYTHING! LOL

I'm very excited about this news. I've always wanted to see Steve activated and back in Seal mode. As he's a fully trained Seal would he need to have more retraining if it's a one off mission. He would probably know most of the guys he'd be working with. Wouldn't it just be a fitness issue and Steve's pretty fit. I wonder what Lenkov means by a taste though. I want a full sampling.

I’m also curious as to what ‘a taste means’? It could be anything from him being asked (which we all know isn’t a choice or ..I actually have no clue!) Again. I don’t have big expectations at all. Just addressing the possibility or acknowledging it is cool vs. ignoring the prospect. :D

As far as if Steve would need additional training. Absolutely. It has nothing to do with his personal fitness as it does that for the last twelve months he has not been training like he would as a SEAL. They don’t stop in between missions and they constantly train on new weapons, equipment, tactics, and most importantly, training with the unit to anticipate every move. It’s one of the things I was curious about when I contemplated my ‘Steve is reactivated’ scenario which I shelved.

I wonder what Lenkov means by a taste though. I want a full sampling.

Maybe we can assume he has been training on weekends? Or maybe during these weeks where there are no new episodes - lol!

I wonder if Joe will resurface somehow and he's called in for intel?
