H50 Fic rec: As a rule of thumb I do not read WIPs for various reasons, but I've totally been sucked into one the last month. It's not on any of the fic communities yet, (until it's complete I think) but it is regularly updated on the author's LJ. Currently at 16 chapters (about 30k thus far)

The Co-operative
Labeled Gen/ Pre-slash (h/c)
By Sealie

This is a lovely AU that is richly detailed, with wonderful character voices, and a very engaging plot. While down on his luck, Danny moves into a cooperative house operated by Steve a recovering ex SEAL. It has wonderful subtle h/c and deals with disability with respect and care. As a reader I totally got pulled into the lives of all our favorites on the show.

"Person of Interest" has an article in this week's TV Guide and was labeled a 'safe bet' for a season two after its steady ratings surged since the winter break.

I read that the last four episodes were being writen as one giant season finale! Eeep!

*blush*

you're very kind. Thank you. I'm very glad that you think that I'm handing Steve's disability carefully.

I haven't announced the Co-op on any communities, because it is a WIP. I've debated back and forth backing it up on AO3 but... it is quite frankly because it's a WIP. And whilst I'm having a blast writing this, I'm very much playing in my sandbox in the corner, there's a little bit of backwards tweaking going on and evolution (which you may of spotted).

Ah, I'm blathering -- again 0_o

Oh, I understand about not announcing it to the fic coms, I was just letting people know not to look for it there. I think your approach of keeping on your LJ until done is a great method of writing b/c one of the reasons why I don't read WIPs is because once you have a story 'out there', it makes the editing process nearly impossible. I've never had a story over 10k that I haven't tweak earlier parts because a story goes where it wants and not necessarily where 'you' want it to. And being able to go back to earlier sections without any pressure is awesome.

I re-read it this weekend because I wanted a break from my epic coda and noticed your edits. Also the little clues you sprinkled throughout the story that I didn't catch the first time.

Like I said, your fic is a treat. It hits so many of my buttons :D

Thanks for the rec. I want to move in to that co-op.

I'm commenting here, too, to let the author know how much I am enjoying the story. (Those pages are among the LJ pages for which the comment section is showing up all messed up for me. I cannot leave a comment. My own journal is the same way at the moment.) I am enjoying the attention to character detail and all the little bits woven in from the show and I love how they are as much of a team at the co-op as they are back at HQ. I also like that there is an interesting plot running through it. The fire scenes were intense. I am looking forward to reading more.

I'm glad you liked the rec.

I just went on your LJ as annymous so it wasn't in my style. I clicked to leave comment an yes, 'it wont allow to leave a comment' if you don't have anything typed in it. Once you type words, the post comment button becomes active.

Hope this helps.

Do you have a custom LJ by chance?

I have a custom journal, but the actual page on which I put my posts is the default blank. I must have had a major brain gap on the posting issue because, yes, the word post does highlight once I start typing. *facepalm*. However the pages were still in disarray in some journal entries in both my journal and some others (not yours). However, today it is suddenly all fine again. I don't know if it was something LJ was working on or some setting I had changed on the computer.

Okay. Because if you have a custom page when you click on your friend's page, there's a box at the right top that you click to 'view in my style' which makes all your f-list look like your layout and all the comment stuff will remain the same and nothing will appear funky.

:D
