I write linear as well. I don't skip scenes, but sometimes upon re-reading, I notice tiny little scenes that need to be added and write myself a note to do it. It could be the nature of the story. This is one of those with twists and turns and I'll notice I didn't follow-up on something or that I skipped a key character's reaction to a development.

I admit one scene requires me to do a little research and I was on a roll so I skipped it to go on to a more emotional section.

In editing, I cut a lot of fat, because I like things to read at a fast clip.
