I've been watching the season 1 dvd set of "Supernatural" with my husband who's been getting little glimpses over the past year. Once we moved and were without TV, it was our stable for viewing, watching 3 eppys a night. Nice monsters of the week episodes and as he said... enough spooky stuff written with flare.

"Hot guys" for the women but "cool enough" that male viewers wished they were the hunters.

On re-watching a year later, loved how this series matured, grew and developed the Sam storyline as well as layered Dean more. It earned more budget dollars and became just one heck of a fun show to watch.

Love you guys, what a nice escape.

Watching the last three eppys of season 1----- what a nice tense story, weaving an arc to acumulate in one of the most intense season enders in a long time.

yes, it just makes me happy, funny when needed, full of action, drama and just that 'another' world escapism

SPN is a really fantastic show for couples to watch together; most of the shows that I like, my husband can at least tolerate, and vice versa, but SPN is one of the few where we're both really excited about getting new episodes. (Though he did occasionally complain about the "soap opera stuff" last season. *grin*)

Yes, its just one of those things that everyone can enjoy for various reasons!

The whole balance of horror/sci-fi/drama/action et el.

Smushy emotions and kick butt action!

(Hugs) my show!

Eric doesn't want to watch any season 3 right now as he catches up, but he really likes Dean, the fights, horror, though he said the writers rip of to much "Hellblazer' he doesn't mind :-D

this is one of the few shows hubby and I agree on. we watch it every week together. I get to drool over teh pretty and he gets to shout at the tv (salt and burn it guys, salt and burn it!!)

why he watches everything like its a sporting event, I don't know. I guess as long as he doesn't actually try to salt and burn something himself, I'll be happy.

I don't know if you know the answer to this or not, but if there's a writers strike and a teamsters strike (stagehands, I think) in Hollywood, does it affect vancouver? you're the first person I could think of to ask besides brother in law, but hubby is hogging the phone.

I adored s1 and though s2 was pretty good and s3 is slowly getting there, they won't be the same. I mean the Pilot? Faith? Devil's Trap? They were beyond awesome.

"Hot guys" for the women but "cool enough" that male viewers wished they were the hunters.

definately the way it plays out with the guys I know. Starts off they watch because I've been bugging them for months, then they like the car, and the girl of the week and general seem to fanboy Dean :D

Yeah Season 1 was the growing pains but from dics 5 on was jsut amazing! Season 2 was just dark and guh, very interesting to see the plot lines sizzle for both brothers.

I think so far last week's eppy was the best thus far after a lackluster start, so i'm hoping things keep cruisng along.

I just purchased season1 on dvd and am looking forward to rewatching very soon.

From season to season, that's what I've noticed more; maturity of story line and characterization. The Winchester's have been allowed to grow and the depth of writing allowed to increase and all that without losing the charm and snark that has endeared this show to viewers the world over, not to mention my own self. :D

SPN is the ONLY show on TV this season where once the end comes of an episode I'm sitting there saying, "What? That's it? The hour's over? NOOOOOOOOOOO!!" It's made me eagerly anticipate the arrival of Thursday nights.

Seriously, there is nothing on tv I care more about seeing than SPN on Thursday nights, and nothing on tv has left me gasping for more after each episode.

I remember when season 1 was over and there was rumor that CW would either not pick it up for a 2nd, or something like that. Actually, I get Entertainment Weekly and I read that it hadn't been picked up, but that was just by the time that issue had printed, because the net was alive with celebration only a few weeks later that the CW had indeed picked up SPN for another year.

I'm thinking this show will be around for a long time to come. *happy dance*

It'd been a year since I'd senn season 1 and it was aweom upon re-watching! I was so scared for season 3, I read it was very close to getting axed and even season 2 was in danger for alittle bit when the two networks merged.

I think they are pretty solid now, so I'm not too woried for next year. They've earned a fan base now and I think its growing!
