Vet Hospitals

Spent four hours at the after hours animal clinic. After battling the grocery store for two hours, ahead of the giant winter storm coming. Paid all the bills to come home facing a decent sized vet bill.
UGH
We ended up getting some emergency credit thing for pet care, which we'll pay off next week.
Lucybell is sleeping off her ordeal in the bed room.
What a freaking stressful day.
Think I'll answer some e-mail and LJ posts.

Date: 2007-12-16 07:54 pm (UTC)hope you didn't get snowed in too badly. where did you move from? atlanta? heh. welcome to winter in buffalo darling! my in-laws call it 'lake-effect snow'. somehow being near lake erie intensifies the snow fall in the area. lucky you though - plenty of opportunities to build snowmen and have snowball fights. here in the willamette valley, the weather is so mild that we only see snow on the ground maybe 1-3 days every few years. and even then its usually gone by noon. poor jim complains about it every year (he grew up in jamestown, about an hour south of buffalo). I'm not sure which he misses more - snow or ethnic italian foods that he can only find in ny.
hope you're enjoying it there, its really a lovely area. would you like input from hubby on places to go, things to do and all that? or are you getting plenty of info already? beth lives around there, doesn't she? then you're probably getting plenty of ideas from her, but if you're interested, let me know and I'll nag jim to write up a list for you.
hope you and your hubby enjoy your first christmas in ny!

Date: 2007-12-15 08:01 am (UTC)whats wrong with your gentle giant cat?
hope kitty is doing better, good luck with the storm! I know how horrible supermarkets are during emergencies, hurricane season in florida is not fun.

Date: 2007-12-15 03:22 pm (UTC)Maybe you'll get a break with the weather. If I could exchange the 80+ degrees we're getting today for your snow, I would. Be kind of fun to see all the snowbirds down here freaking out.... Okay, maybe not, they seem to forget how to drive on a clear day as it is once they hit the border.
Hopefully things will look up tomorrow.
