It's been an interesting week. We had friends down from Ottawa for a very brief visit. Nate moved to Canada and needed to come to Buffalo to cross the border and re-enter as a resident. It was fun to hang out with Eric's best friend and meet his wife. We had a great time and now that his papers are all good, we expect to see them more.
I'm on episode five of the first season of "Rome". I'm really enjoying this show a lot as my Roman history is spotty vs my knowledge of Japanese, Chinese and late European. Now I know why it was canceled for the extensive sets and costumes, it's certainly more entertaining then the "Tudors".
I had high hopes for the "Tudors", but was disappointed in how slow the pace was. I mean I'm all for political, religious intrigue, but the entire season only covered Henry's first divorce and he had six other wifes and let's not forget that whole breaking away from Rome!
Been doing a lot of scientific research for
sgabigbang . I believe in knowing about a subject matter if there is an aspect of it in your story or the characters have to talk about things. I want to feel comfortable enough to understand it without being an expert.
However, I have to hand it to the SGA writers, after studying theories in wormhole technology, light speed and cold fusion, my head was spinning. No wonder they leave plot holes in wave their hands magically about things.
Oh and my head phones broke! That means no music or listening to music when I write or I'm on the computer. It is horrid! I don't have computer speakers b/c my headphones are nice and I tend to listen to things late at night. It'll be mid-week before I can go buy a new set.
There is a documentary on about Sumo Wrestling on that my husband is watching, sounds intriguing

I might take a look at that book one day, saving the name to a file of things to read.
